7th CPC pay matrix level 1 to 5

Pay level 1 to 5

The Seventh CPC is recommending a 7th pay matrix with distinct Pay Levels. There are 18 levels of pay Scales . It is applicable only specific groups of employees. Group `C’ employees coming under categories in Pay level 1 to 5.

7th pay commission fixed minimum pay of Rs.18,000. The pay matrix will help chart out the likely path of pay progression along the career ladder of any employee.

In the new pay matrix, it is proposed that direct recruits start at the minimum pay corresponding to the level to which recruitment is made, which will be the first cell of each level.

For example, a person entering service as a direct recruit at pay level 1 the entry pay will be fixed at the start of the level 1  i.e at Rs.18000. at level 2 i.e of Rs19900, at level 3 i.e of Rs 21700, at level 4 i.e of Rs 25500, at level 5 i.e of Rs 29200, and so on .

How to use pay level 1 to 5

On recruitment, an employee joins at a particular level and progresses within the level as per the vertical range. The movement is usually on an annual basis, based on annual increments till the time of their next promotion.

When the employee receives a promotion or a non-functional financial upgrade, he/she progresses one level ahead on the horizontal range.

When a person joins in level 1 the minimum pay will start at Rs. 18,000 (this is basic pay ) which is then added with other components like DA and HRA (House Rent Allowance) to make up the total salary of an employee.

What is pay level 1

“Level” in the Pay Matrix shall mean the Level corresponding to the existing Pay Band and Grade Pay or scale specified in Part A of the Schedule as per Gazette Notification on 25th July 7th CPC – Revised Pay Rules, 2016; Normally as we all know in column 2 indicates pay level 1 in the recommended pay matrix.

What is the basic salary?

“basic pay” in the revised pay structure means the pay drawn in the prescribed Level in the Pay Matrix;

What is pay matrix level?

“Pay Matrix” means Matrix specified in Part A of the Schedule, as per Gazette Notification on 25th July 7th CPC – Revised Pay Rules, 2016; with Levels of pay arranged in vertical cells as assigned to corresponding existing Pay Band and Grade Pay or scale;

What is the salary of grade pay is 1800?

The grade pay system is only for 6th CPC. it has been changed in 7th CPC as pay levels. The top two rows in the recommended pay matrix denotes 6th Pay commission. In the pay matrix, 1800 grade in 6th CPC has now changed pay level 1 in 7th CPC. Salary depends upon the position of an employee in the hierarchy of an organisation.

In case an employee appointed in direct requirement under pay level 1, He/She will be fixed with the basic salary of Rs.18000 (not a cross salary)

How is basic salary set?

Basic salary fixed based Level of posts shall be determined in accordance with the various Levels as assigned to the corresponding existing Pay Band and Grade Pay or scale as specified in the Pay Matrix. There are 18 levels in pay matrix. The horizontal range corresponds to ‘functional role in the hierarchy’ and vertical level denotes ‘pay progression’.which cell as per your eligibility based that cell set is your basic
