PIB FactCheck: DA increase applicable to all CG employees from 1 Jan 2020

The above letter is fake which is confirmed by PIB Fact check that the Central Government has withdrawn the DA cut declaration. A letter from Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is going viral on the social media with the headline ‘DA cut announced by central government has been withdrawn warp, dearness allowance will be applicable to all central employees from 1 January 2020’.

However, Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief at current rates will continue to be paid,” the April order had said. The April order has not been withdrawn, though there are several claims around it. In fact, for the past few days, rumours are being spread on many social media forums that the government has withdrawn the decision to stop the increase in DA. This request letter was written in May 2020. No such decision has been taken by the central government.
