Pay Commission to Submit Report Soon–NDTV
Seventh Pay Commission is ready with its recommendations on revising emoluments for nearly 48 lakh central government employees and 55 lakh pensioners, and will soon submit report to the Finance Ministry.
Earlier in August, the government had extended Commission’s term by another four months till December 31 to give recommendations.
“The Commission is ready with recommendations and the report will be submitted soon,” according to sources.
The Commission, whose recommendations may also have a bearing on the salaries of the state government staff, was given more time by the Union Cabinet just a day before its original 18-month term was coming to an end.
Headed by Justice A K Mathur, the Commission was appointed in February 2014 and its recommendations are scheduled to take effect from January 1, 2016.
The government constitutes the Pay Commission almost every 10 years to revise the pay scale of its employees and often states also implement the panel’s recommendations after some modifications.
As part of the exercise, the Commission holds discussions with various stakeholders, including organisations, federations, groups representing civil employees as well as defence services.
Meena Agarwal is the secretary of the Commission. Other members are Vivek Rae, a retired IAS officer of 1978 batch and Rathin Roy, an economist.
Sixth Pay Commission was implemented with effect from January 1, 2006, the fifth from January 1, 1996 and the fourth from January 1, 1986.

Mr. Balachandran Nair should not forget that a soldier earn his minimum pension on completion of 15 years regular service under any climatic condition anywhere in Indian boarders away from his family. He is very disciplined and honest and ready to meet any national threat from enemies and natural calamities. He protects our boarders 24×365 days and nights and allows India to live and sleep without any fear and danger. Remember, the soldiers are the creme of the Nation. They are retired at the prime of their youth. As such, it is the duty of a patriotic Nation to provide them with a decent living with their family after retirement. Soldiers are not corrupt as civilian employees. The civilian employees have unions to get their various demands but soldiers are disciplined and they serve like slaves without any unions to support and bargain their rights, no national strikes and harthals by them. Don’t question SOLDIER’S DISCIPLINE, be a patriotic Nair.

a military or uniformed personnel during their minimum 15 year of service period, hardly live with their family/parents, kids only for maximum one and half years in 15 years. spent nights in jungle, eats whatever they get in mess some time they have to remain hungry, thru sty. How much hard life one uniformed personnel spends in his service period that only they knows. Attending office and living office untimely, office provided with AC, coolers and fan, eating with family, sharing views, Visiting doctors on simple sneeze of children or wife. There is much difference of sacrifice between uniformed and civil employee. It is very difficult for civilian to live away from home just for one week. whereas uniformed personnel lives away from home for many-many months even some times for years. That why every one salutes the soldier.

Balachandran jee u told that there is no war from 1971..sir you should know that there are lots of soldier and officers of defence who sacrifised their live on boarder as well as inside country to safe guard of nation..even today if there is any violation or intrusion in country thn frst of all they r called..and they nevr hesitate to come and neutralise to the enemy bt does even a single civil organisation does this type of velore..not till now in india…a soldier when goes to its duty on boarder thn hv u realise what his heart says to him ……sir atleast dnt down the moral of soldier..this will not give a good sign to nation

A few answers to lies of Balachandaran PK.
1. Civilian employee becomes eligible for pension on completion of 10 years service, while a soldier can get it only after 15 years of service.
2. A civilian employee’s service is protected by Equal Opportunities Act 1995, which says that even if the civilian employee is suffering from most dibilitating disease he/ she can not be removed from service while a soldier can be and is thrown out for minor diabilities like squint eyes.
3. A civilian employee starts getting paid from day he joins, including so-called probation period, while a soldier gets pay only after successfully completing his training period of one year.
4. A civilian employee gets two holidays a week, all gazetted holidays are definitely available to him/her, gets 30 days earned leave, 20 days casual leave and medical leave etc. thus total period he/she works is only 200 days in a year, while a soldier only gets 60 days annual and 30 days casual leave. Hence works 24×275 days every year. Ration is available to all those who are employed in CRPF/BSF also. CGHS. Benefits are available to civilian pensioners at higher per capita budget. A civilian employee gets LTC and availed it with his/ her whole family every alternate year to such exotic places as Andaman, Goa, Shimla and Ooty. A civilian employee either gets a government quarter or gets HRA even while residing at ancestral house in home town, while a soldier gets to live with his family only one in four years. A civilian employee gets his children admitted into a good school and they study there till 10+2 while children of soldier change schools every year. OROP is deserved by soldiers because they are forced to retire after 15 years. Soldiers will be very happy to give up OROP if government makes their terms of service similar to those of CRPF/BSF constable or civilian employee. So Mr. Balachandaran why do not you ask gipovernment to make common terms of service for soldiers and civilian employees.

Why dint you join the armed forces then?we won 1971 after the War with Pak, we armed forces are downgraded in 1973 from 70% pension to 50% . You civil & IAS people got raise in pension from 30% to 50%. We are waiting since last 40 years. So the moot question is that who is disciplined whether the uniformed one or other?

BALACHANDRAN NAIR PK says
Pensioners and serving employees, both civil and military dreaming for the recommendations of 7th cpc. As regards to armed forces they are getting more than what their counterpart civilians getting OROP is one of them. Free foods, accommodation, annual leave, casual leave, uniforms, free train journey to home town every year a lot of welfare programmes even after retirement. All it is when there no war since 1971. Though they are agitating for OROP and other benefits where as civilian employees and pensioners not dong anything of that. So the moot question is that who is disciplined whether the uniformed or the others?
