Fixation of pay of P.C.S. officers appointed as Under Secretaries

 OFFICE MEMORANDUM

 Subject:- Fixation of pay of P.C.S. officers appointed as Under Secretaries .

 The undersigned is directed to refer to this Ministry’s Office Memorandum No.F.1.(44)-Est(Spl)/47, dated the 28th June 1948, regarding the fixation of scales of pay for posts of Under Secretary and Deputy Secretary under the Central Civil Services (Revision of Pay) Rules, 1947, and to say that the following shall be added at the end of the entry in para. 2(a)(4) thereof relating to extra benefit to be allowed over the pay in the basic time-scale to P.C.S. officers appointed as Under Secretaries;-

 “If the number of stages available for stepping up pay in the basic time scale fall short of the number of stages mentioned above, the benefit of the remaining stages may be allowed above the maximum of the basic time-scale, each such stage being deemed to be equal to the last increment in that scale if it is an annual increment and half the amount thereof if it is biennial”.
