Subject:-Central Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 1960 – Revision of scale of Pay.

The undersigned is directed to invite a reference to the Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure, O.Ms. of even number dated 5.9.62 and 26.9.62, on the subject mentioned above.

2.It has been brought to the notice of this Ministry that consequent on the modification of the revised scale of pay of Assistants, Stenographers, etc. from Rs.210-10-290-15-320-EB-15-425-EB-145-530 to Rs 210-10-270-15-300-EB-15-450-EB-20-530, w.e.f., 1.7.59, some persons particularly Grade II (Old) Stenographers of the Central Secretariat Stenographers Service, would draw less pay in the modified scale of pay, then what was actually drawn by them in the original revised scale of pay, from the date.

3.The President has been pleased to decide that the recovery of overpayments regarding pay and allowance due to the modification of the revised scale of pay, made on or before 5.9.62 or the date of  issue of the orders by the individual Ministries/Departments concerned as laid down in para 2 of this Ministry’s O.M. dated 26.9.62, as the case may be, shall be waived.

4.These overpayments shall be regulated in accordace with the provisions of the Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure, O.M.No.F.12(14)-Est(Spl)/60 dated the 9th May, 1961, regarding the  waiver of over-payments as a result of implementation of the recommendations of the Pay Commission regarding the revised scales of pay and allowances.
