one rank one pension announcement of implementation expected in 4 to 8 weeks (oneindia news)

One rank one pension: Good news on its way

For many ex-servicemen the wait has been a long one. Their demand and fight for One Rank One Pension will become a reality soon.

Sources tell OneIndia that the defence ministry is working over time to ensure that the same is implemented in quick time. Manohar Parrikar, the defence minister of India was recently quoted as saying that the announcement of its implementation would be made in 4 to 8 weeks.

Significance of OROP

It is an equal demand for pensions. If an officer has retired last year and there is an increase in the pensions the following year owing to enhancements by the pay commissions then it is implemented only prospectively. Basically if an officer has retired in 1990 in the current scenario he is not entitled for an enhanced pension if the same is implemented during the later years. The argument has been that the pension for officers of the same rank should remain the same at all times. This the ex servicemen had demanded as the costs of living was going up and the hike in pensions should benefit all and not just those who have recently retired.  Read more at: http://www.oneindia.com/feature/one-rank-one-pension-good-news-on-its-way-1594149.html

Inspite of clear instruction received from the Hon’ble Supreme Court, still OROP is pending to announce. Why ? We are 101% entitled for OROP. A lot of kumbakonam is going on like kalkkari in India. With helding OROP is a crime said Rahul which is absolutely correct/ truth. Now only the GOD can extricate soldiers from this issue.

MPs and MLAs emoluments are passed without the consideration of finance whereas they declare themselves prime sevak of country men. the true MP and MLA will not accept the perks and entitlements granted by the govt. have u ever heard that an MLA or MP die of starvation. only people are low strata meeting starvation death. eligibility conditions for getting pension in respect of MLA and MP is below five year service. the basic pension minimum is rs 20000 and a hike of rs 1500 for every additional year and so many concessions with IT exemption they enjoy the life like prince at the cost of the common man. The judges are entitled for same service same pension irrespective of the no of years they put in.

Parliament takes 15 minutes to increase the salary of all MPs & Ministers. But I m surprised why it takes decades together to declare OROP. We soldiers are only back tapped at the time of aggression by these politicians.. n latter we r forgotten. We soldiers are really made fool by these politicians. They don’t have intention to give. No young mass is joining Defense after Engg. & opt for civil job. So the vacancy felt in defense. Defense ministry should come forward with sincerity . Our demand for OROP is not getting sanctioned because we dont give votes to these political parties. So they don’t consider our demand.

There is no value of comments. Comments is children play. War did not took place since 43 yrs. Thats why veterans are not so important. If as per defence accounts report only need Rs. 1763 Thousands cores (approx) for OROP.. This amount is not even 1% of any big ghotala. where such a big budget country “SOCHALYA’ making for 3,50,000 cores. Is the FAUJI is less important than the SOCHALYA ?

At last there seems some rays of hope coming true. Welfare of jcos and OR consisting 97 percent of total strength of Defence is required to be considered sympathically. Officers are fighting for themself by keeping gun on the solder of pbor. Hope something good we listen from BJP Government in favour of masses.

A jawan after having fought the wars of 62, 65 and 71 was rewarded with reduction of pension from 75 to 50 percent so that parity is achieved with his civil counter parts by increasing their pension from 33 to 50 percent. Now he gets Rs 5000 or so against Rs 8000 of a new pensioner. The modalities are being Worked out are so loudly declared even in the Parliament for so long that the in principle declaration has become a joke affecting the image of the govt and the party. Lets help the Jawan to have a life of dignity after having fought for us. Unfortunately his trauma does not end when he is disabled or loses a limb when fighting for us; the govt takes him to the Apex Court for protecting all and his demand for disability pension. We all are indeed ungrateful that we can not even protect a disabled Jawan when he requires govt support the maximum. The current Sarkar is working out the modalities or as the last worthy RM mentioned that the case of OROP be sent to a tribunal for solution of Jawans pensioary benefits. It is very dynamic and complex issue
