National Federation of Indian Railwaymen (NFIR) general secretary M Raghavaiah and its vice-president J G Mahurkar have said that the cadre restructuring approved by the Ministry of Railways would benefit 3.5 lakh employees as they would get promotion from November 1 this year. In a statement released here on Tuesday, they said that cadre restructuring was being demanded by the railway unions with a view to correct anomalies arising out of the Sixth Central Pay Commission. The statement said the employees would not only get higher pay, but also higher posts.
