OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Grant of Interim Relief to the Central Government employees on the basis of recommendations of the Fourth Pay Commission – question whether the benefit is applicable to employees of Autonomous Bodies.

The undersigned is directed to say that the question whether the interim relief sanctioned to the question whether the interim relief sanctioned to the Central Government employees with effect from 1-3-1985 vide this Ministry’s O.M. of even number dated 29-4-1985 will be payable to employees of Autonomous Bodies, has been under the consideration of the Government for some time. It has now been decided that since Autonomous Bodies, by and large, follow Government pattern of pay and allowances, the interim relief as sanctioned to Central Government employees would be payable to employees of such Autonomous bodies as are on Government pattern of pay scales and allowances, such as dearness allowance, additional dearness allowance Compensatory (City) allowance etc.
