LAUNCHING OF SPECIAL RECOVERY DRIVE AGAINST EPFO DEFAULTERS
The Employees Provident Fund Organisation(EPFO) has scheduled to launch a nationwide intense drive for the recovery of dues from the defaulting establishments during the period between 01/08/2012 and 30/09/2012.
During this period, appropriate recovery and/or legal action under the provisions of Employees Provident Funds & Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 such as attachment of bank account, attachment and sale of movable and immovable properties, arrest and detention of defaulters in civil prison etc. will be initiated against the defaulting establishments.
Further tiling prosecution under Section 14 of the Act and registering complaints under Section 406/409 of IPC before the police will also be resorted to against the chronic defaulters.
Therefore, the defaulting establishments are advised to remit the outstanding dues immediately and avoid such coercive recovery and/or legal actions.
