The Secretary(E),
Railway Board,
New Delhi
Dear Sir,
Sub: Signing of attendance register by the field staff of Engineering Permanent Way etc.
Ref: Railway Board’s letter No.2013/CE-II/CS/3 dated 11/04/2014.
The Railway Board had issued instructions to the Principal Chief Engineers of Zonal Railways vide letter No.2013/CE-II/CS/3 dated 11/04/2014 for discontinuance of system of marking `13′ (Present) on the attendance register and allowing literate staff to sign in the attendance register. These instructions were issued, pursuant to the references made by NFIR, but however Advance Correction Slip to para 152 (2) of IRPWM has not yet been issued.
Reports received by the Federation reveal that on many Zonal Railways, Board’s instztiezeed 11/04/2014 are not being implemented, consequently marking ‘P’ or ‘A’ as the case continued, resulting staff resentment. Amendment to para 152 (2) of IRPWM has also not been issued till date.
NFIR, therefore, requests the Railway Board to reiterate its instructions to Zonal Railways (more particularly Western Railway) immediately and also issue necessary Correction Slip to para 152 (2) of IRPWM duly endorsing copy to the Federation.
Yours faithfully
(Dr M. Raghavaiah)
General Secretary
