VRS FOR AIR INDIA EMPLOYEES
An unstarred question related to VRS scheme for Air India employees was raised in the Rajya Sabha by Smt. Sasikala Pushpa. The question was answered by Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State in the Ministry of Civil Aviation on 21.07.2015. The details are provided below:
Smt. Sasikala Pushpa asked whether Air India has any plans of introducing VRS for its employees. She also asked whether the financial crunch of Air India comes in the way of implementing this scheme and the steps taken by Government in this regard. She requested for more details in case if the answers were positive.

Dr Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State in the Ministry of Civil Aviation said Air India does not have any plans of introducing VRS for its employees. Regarding the financial crunch affecting the implementation of this scheme, he replied a need does not arise in view of the above question (on the implementing VRS for Air India employees).
