PATERNITY LEAVE FOR BANK EMPLOYEES
In the Rajya Sabha, an Unstarred Question (No.92) on Paternity leave for bank employees was raised by Shri Lal Sinh Vadodia and a suitable answer for the same was provided on 21.07.2015. The details are provided below:
Shri Lal Sinh Vadodia asked whether the Government is considering the grant paternity leave to bank employees. He asked whether the Government has taken any step in this regard, so far and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor.
Rajya Sabha had said Paternity Leave to bank employees has been accepted under the 10th Wage Negotiation Settlement signed between Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) and the Unions/Associations of employees. It added, male employees with less than two surviving children shall be eligible for 15 days paternity leave during his wife’s confinement and may be availed up to 15 days before or up to 6 months from the date of delivery of the child
