OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject:- Fixation of pay of ex-combatant clerks retired/released from service in the Armed Forces on re-employment as L.D.C.s/Junior Clerks in Civil Departments.

The undersigned is directed to say that the question of giving further retrospection to the orders contained in this Ministry’s O.M. No.6(8)-E.III/63 dated 11th April 1963, read with O.M. dated 19th January 1965, regarding the fixation of pay of ex-combatant clerks released from the Armed Forces, on their re-employment in Civil Departments as L.D.C.s/Junior Clerks, had been under consideration for some time. The President has now been pleased to decide that the provisions contained in this Ministry’s O.M. referred to above will have retrospective effect from the 1st January 1956 instead of the 30th May, 1960, as stipulated therein.

2.Ex-combatant clerks re-employed as LDCs/Junior Clerks in Civil Departments may be given an option to get their pay refined with effect from the 1st January, 1956, or from the date of their appointment, as the case may be which ever is later. The option should be exercised within six months from the date of issue of this Office Memorandum and the option once exercised will be final.

3.No arrears as a result of the application of these orders relating to the period prior to the date of issue of this Office Memorandum will be admissible.

4.In so far as persons serving in the Indian Audit and Accounts Departments are concerned, these orders are issued in consultation with the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.
