According to Note 2 below paragraph 1 (c) of this Ministry’s Office Memorandum No.8(34)-Est.III/57 dated the 25th November 1958, pay last drawn before retirement will be taken to be the substantive pay plus special pay, if any; pay drawn in an officiating appointment may also be taken into account if it was drawn continuously for at least one year on the date of retirement.
2. A question has been raised whether qualification pay drawn by certain personnel in the Defence Services on the date of retirement may be taken into account in computing their last pay for the purpose of fixation of pay on re-employment. It has been decided that it should not be taken into account.
3. In so far as re-employment in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department is concerned, these orders are issued in consultation with the Comptroller and Auditor General.
