Office Memorandum

Subject: Fixation of initial pay of quasi-permanent Lower Division Clerks on their promotion as upper Division clerks in an officiating capacity and subsequent refixation thereof in the post of upper Division clerk on the analogy of F.R.31.

In partial modification of para 1 of this Ministry’s Office Memorandum of even No. dated the 31st October, 1958, the undersigned is directed to say that the fixation of the pay of quasi-permanent Lower Division clerks on their appointment to officiate as upper division clerks and regulation of their pay as officiating upper division clerks, on the lines indicated in this ministry’s office memorandum referred to above read with this ministry’s office memorandum of even No. dated 23rd may, 1959 may henceforth be sanctioned by the authorities who are competent to exercise powers under F.R.27 in respect of this category.

  1. past cases which have not so far been decided may also be dealt with by the authorities referred to in para 1 above and arrears allowed.
  2. In so far as the persons serving in audit and accounts department are concerned, these orders issue after consultation with the comptroller and auditor general.
