Sub: Permission to board Double Decker AC Express trains from originating and intermediate stations.

Some zonal Railways have raised queries regarding the granting of permission to passengers, not holding confirmed reserved ticket, to board Double Decker AC Express trains.

2. It has been decided that henceforth for boarding the Double Decker AC Express trains, both at originating and intermediate stations, the minimum class of ticket as indicated below will have to be purchased before permission is granted by On-board ticket checking staff.

3. The passenger, who do not have any reserved ticket and who could not get the reservation at current counter, shall be required to purchase minimum class of ticket as stated above and must approach ticket checking staff manning the coaches before boarding the train. Under no circumstances, passenger should board the reserved coaches without the permission of on-board ticket checking staff.

4. Necessary instructions may be issued to all concerned.

5. Information on this account should be disseminated through all available means for information of general public. This disposes off North Western Railway’s letter No.C-436/Double Decker dated 24.04.2014.
