Reimbursement of Children Education Allowance (Rs.24,000/- per annum for two children) is taxable under Incoem Tax or not? Is it not covered under Section 10(14) and Rule 2BB of Income Taxper. Whereas, earlier it was exempted upto the limit of Rs.100/- per month per child i.e. Rs. 2,400/- per annum. Now the limit has been raised from Rs.100/- to Rs.1000/-(now Rs.1250/- w.e.f. 1.1.2011) per month, why not the amount shown under the said Rules on Govt. sites?
