Dearness Allowance for the month of January, 2011.

when the Dearness Allowance goes up 50%, it gives some pushups to Compensatory Allowances such as – Increases of 25% in
Children Education Allowance,
Child Care Allowance,
Washing Allowance,
Cycle Allowance,
Cash Handling Allowance,
Conveyance Allowance,
Split Duty Allowance will also be increased.
It also boosts up some advances namely –
Flood Advance,
Festival Advance will be increased by 25%, when the DA goes up 50% as per recommendations in the 6th CPC report.

Govt should consider for merging of 50% DA into Basic plus GP. Since the 6 CPC recommendations are having more anamolies than never before, earlier all 5 CPCs. The percentage of Anamolies in 6th CPC is very high than the previous all 5 CPCs. In promotions, there is no much benefit. Earlier, some thing is beneficial on promotion. Now in 6th CPC, there is no much benefit. Even though u got promotion, a meagre one increment, that too , very small of 100Plus for Clerks to 200, 400 plus for Stenos.
Each CG employee shouldl presurrise their union association leaders, to presurrise the merging of 50% DA into basic, like done and implemented in 5th CPC. Meagre 25% of CEA and TPT not at all compasate to the raising price trend of consumer items. Think once, and presurrise the GOVT to implement and merge 50% DA w.e.f. 1.1.2011, into basic plus GP.

If labour unions does not fight now for the merging of DA with basic then increment of DA would be meaningless, because after 5 years, price of even a kg of Onion or Tomato may be more than whole amount od DA increment if the inflationary trend continues so.

This very provision of enhancing allowances @25% when DA crosses 50% is never to be seen in case of PSU employees. This favouritism on the part of the govt. towards govt. employees is unwarranted. The sharp contrast can be seen in both the recommendations of the 6th CPC for govt. employees and Rao committee for PSU officers. In case of govt. employees, the govt. enhanced fitment benefit from 30% to 40% on its own, whereas in case of PSU officers, it lowered fitment benefit from 40% to 30%. Conspiracy of bureaucrats.

I agree with all. It is necessary to merge DA with Basic and Grade pay to fight ongoing inflation. There has been the provision for this in 6CPC also. The Govt employees will hue a sigh of relief at least.

Pensioners do not get any other increments of increase of allowances,hence 50% DA should be merged with basic pension and 1% additional DA given on the new basic as DA is 51%.This is as per the recommendations of the 6 pay commission
